DESCRIPTION
The American Holly has large, dark green leaves that are deeply spined. The female of this variety produces lustrous red fruit. This holly reaches a mature size of 15 to 30 feet tall and 10 to 12 feet wide. The American Holly grows best in areas with moist, well-drained soil and partial shade.
